Welcome Parents and Players to the Warrior Cup program, 2023!
This is a unique opportunity that was created with the mindset of continued high tempo and team centric development and gameplay offered in the off season to keep your players in game condition as they head through toward summer camps, Jr camps, tryouts and into the regular season. The concept brings in 5 practice sessions and up to 5 games in a best of 5 series.
Enclosed you will find practice times for each group, game times for each group, series and gameplay format, and gameplay rules.
It is expected that each player and parent follow and adhere to program policies, and gameplay rules. Players/parents who end up in violation of the policies or rules will simply be removed from the program without refund. This program is too short and the focus of the program is targeted to continue high tempo development and have fun doing it, providing a great experience and culture for players and parents alike.

Practice Dates/Times
All practices at Design Works Center, Grande Prairie AB
2014-2012 Group:
Sign in Day 1 Jun 6, 2023 4:15-4:45 pm (Players will sign in and collect their Jersey and socks. All players to wear assigned jersey and socks for the entirety of the program)
Practice Schedule:
June 6, June 8, June 13, June 15 & June 20 – 5:00 – 6:00 pm each day
2009/2010 Group:

2008-2007 Group:
Sign in Day 1 Jun 5, 2023 5:30-6:00 pm (Players will sign in and collect their Jersey and socks. All players to wear assigned jersey and socks for the entirety of the program)
Practice Schedule:
June 5, June 7, June 12, June 14 & June 19 – 6:15 – 7:15 pm each day
Game Play Format:
Games will either be played in 3 on 3, 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 roster size dependant. The aim is to have full 5 on 5 game play.
- Games will consist of 2 play through periods with a flood after the second period of each game
- Games will be fully reffed
- Periods will be as follows 5 on 5 or 4 on 4, 1st period, 20 mins stop, 2nd period 20 mins straight time, 3rd period 20 mins stop
- If 3 on 3 will be 3 period of 15 mins stop
- We have enough ice booked where we shouldn’t run into time issues. If we do run into time issues, the 3rd period will just be reduced to allow game play to remain on schedule.
- Tie’s will be played out in shootout format
- Winner of best of 5 Wins Warrior cup and will each player will receive a mini championship banner
- Reffing will follow regular Hockey AB rules. Game misconducts in the last 10 of the 3rd will result in the next game being missed as well. Match will be an expulsion from the series.
Program Policies
All players and parents are expected to follow to avoid being removed from the program
- No fighting, bullying, misuse or abuse of facility/equipment or staff
- Brash or abusive parent conduct towards refs, coaches and program staff will not be tolerated
- Players are expected to engage, listen and put effort toward coaches, practice plans and their own development. Do not be disruptive, horseplay or partake in harmful activities on ice, bench or in dressing rooms
- Dressing rooms to be clean after each use
- No shooting pucks in dressing rooms or facility hallways
Game Schedule:
Games will be played at the Design Works Center and some teams will be required to play Friday Night.
